 Reporting

My style of reporting is to leave an impact on viewers with each package. I have an eye for videography and enjoy being a one-man band because of that. When editing my stories, I keep pacing in mind to keep viewers interested. I also think that your writing can tell a story while your video explains another aspect. My background in weather has also helped improve my on camera presence, my ability to ad-lib, and my demeanor during live shots.

I'm not afraid to jump into a story that is controversial.  In fact, I enjoy investigative reporting and answering questions for the community. During my time at News 5, I have done several Target 5 Investigation pieces. The first one that spearheaded the Target 5 franchise was my reporting on the death of a worker at a local meat packing plant. The details of the death were kept mum for sometime, but I uncovered his name and much more. I also spoke with a former worker at a meat packing plant and the man's close friend. It was a multi-part series. You can watch those stories directly below on the left hand side.

On the other side of the spectrum, I also enjoy feature stories. My favorite piece is Inavale: The Town that Went Away. It was a feature on a small town that has a dwindling population. I tried to let the story breathe and the subjects personalities tell the story of the town. You can watch that story directly below on the right hand side.
